In the rapidly evolving landscape of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), ensuring

these challenges, which is why we’ve developed a cutting-edge Flight Termination
System (FTS) tailored for large drones, including the DJI AGRAS series or similar, renowned for
agricultural operations.

Our FTS is engineered to meet and exceed the stringent requirements outlined by
the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), particularly for operations up to
Specific Assurance and Integrity Level (SAIL) III. This system is designed to
independently terminate a drone’s flight, either by triggering a controlled crash or
enabling an emergency landing procedure, ensuring that the drone remains within the
designated operational volume, even in the event of a system failure.
Key Features of TalosAvionics FTS
Our FTS operates entirely independently of the drone’s existing systems, ensuring that no single point of failure can compromise its function. This aligns with EASA’s requirement for the segregation of the FTS from the UAS flight control system architecture.
The FTS is equipped with a high-power relay that can cut the drone’s power supply from the battery, effectively ending the flight. This relay is driven by our proprietary full-duplex communication system, offering a reliable range of over 10 km or 50 km, depending on the model and customer specifications.
TalosAvionics FTS undergoes rigorous testing to ensure its reliability under various operational conditions. Our system is designed to comply with EASA’s prescribed flight tests, ensuring that the FTS will perform as intended in real-world scenarios.
Our FTS is fully compliant with EASA’s Means of Compliance (MoC) document Light-UAS.2511-01. This guarantees that the probability of a drone exiting the ground risk buffer is minimized, even under extreme conditions.
